Club News:
President’s Note
Attendance roughly halved when meetings were moved from the Branigan Public Library and halved again when we met at the Dona Ana Community College. And then halved again at St. Genevieve Village.
During the next meeting we hope to:
   1.   Have an informal dialog/survey regarding:
      Meeting Location
      Day
      Time
    2. Discuss what you would like to have regarding; Content / Agenda: i.e., Lectures on photographic technique and aesthetic aspects in addition to an equal amount of time devoted to presentation of personal work. With the possibility of inviting guest presenters.

   3. Discuss a possible increase in dues in order that the club might be able to purchase its own digital projector.

If you are unable to attend please respond via e-mail with your thoughts and concerns to either Ron Wolfe (wolferdw@yahoo.com) or Jack Spratt (.jack4spratt@gmail.com).

Last Month's News: Members and guest brought photos to share and discuss. Good suggestions for composition and lighting shared by the group.
Some discussion about maintaining our non-profit status brought us to a vote to continue paying the $10 necessary to keep that. Part of the discussion was that it does have some benefits for us and would be much harder and more expensive for us to get it later if we dropped it now.
We have received an Open Call for Submissions for 2011 for a juried show of our photos at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. Some discussion about its value to us and the associated cost both to the club and to participants individually followed. No decision was reached but in light of the June 18, 2010 deadline, the flyer is posted here for members to read and respond. Please respond to one of the co-presidents and/or be prepared to discuss it at the March meeting. Time is getting short to do all the work involved.

Directions to the meeting location:(Attendees may also want to consult a map):
Access from North Main Street (to North Solano Drive): - turn left onto Solano - go south and turn left onto Mulberry (3rd intersection) - turn right into parking lot (if you pass a vacant field, you've gone too far). From Spruce Ave turn right onto Solano - go north and turn right onto Mulberry - turn right into parking lot (see above about vacant field).
Access from Spruce Ave @ Triviz Drive - go northwest and turn left onto Mulberry (4th intersection) - go down hill past Evelyn St past open field - turn left into parking lot
Parking: The parking lot is cruciform. Building C1 is at the bottom of the cross (near the south end; left hand side). The bottom vertical left half is available for parking on the left hand side -- ignore Handicap Signs after 6:00pm -- do not park above the cross! Or on the left hand arm -- the right hand arm is fine. Directly across from the St. Genevieve Village complex is Carlen Ct.; dead end parking there on the street is fine. Parking on Mulberry is okay, but not recommended. If you park there mount the sloped curb.
